Success at last! Our group finally made it to the gate from which we would eventually fly to Beijing . . . from left: Haixia, Yuliang, Zhenhua, Haiying, Timothy, Daniel (our fearless leader), me, and Xuping.

Airport Adventure
For those of you who do not know - my original flight from San Francisco to Beijing was canceled while I was waiting for it. At that point, those of us who flew into SFO from other airports to catch that flight were organized, by the airline, into a group, flown to LAX, and, after multiple hours of layover, were finally able to depart for Beijing. With all of the changes and layovers accounted for, we arrived in Beijing a mere (!) 12 hours later than originally scheduled . . . However, what was most interesting was that, with all of the changes in planes and itineraries, not a single piece of our luggage went missing!

I know it probably didn't feel like it at the time, but you were very lucky. Being halfway around the world with lost luggage is no fun :(
